Samsung launches a 5G laptop

The product comes with a Snapdragon chipset and Windows 11.

Contrary to Microsoft’s hopes, laptops equipped with Qualcomm processors rather than Intel or AMD have not become popular in recent years, but some hardware manufacturers are still willing to stand on the ropes, making such devices in order to meet the demand for them. The latest development is that Samsung introduced a version of the Galaxy Book2 Go that can connect to 5G networks.

The notebook, pre-installed with Windows 11, can connect to next-generation mobile networks at Sub-6 frequencies, and supports the use of an eSIM in addition to a physical nano SIM. It’s powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c+ Gen 3 system chip. According to Samsung, customers can expect “very long” battery life, however, the company avoided mentioning specific operating hours.

Among the most important specifications of the Galaxy Book2 Go 5G are the 14-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, support for WiFi 6E (802.11ax) and Bluetooth 5.2, two USB-C ports, compliance with the MIL-STD-810G standard, and 1.44 kg weight.

Euro prices for the different models of the compact and light product are not yet clear at the time of writing, but important English prices have been published by Samsung, and the laptop will be available in the UK from the end of January.

It will be available in three configurations:

  • WiFi / 4 GB RAM / 128 GB storage: 499 pounds (226 thousand forints)
  • 5 GB / 4 GB RAM / 128 GB storage: 649 pounds (294 thousand forints)
  • 5 GB / 8 GB RAM / 256 GB storage: 749 pounds (339 thousand forints)
