Global fashion chain Primark has announced that it will open its first store in the Hungarian capital. The first Primark store will be in Arena Mall, one of the largest malls in Budapest and is expected to open in the next financial year, i.e. between September 16, 2023 and September 15, 2024. The announcement is good news for those Hungarians who have been shopping in droves until now. To the nearest Primark in Vienna.
According to the company’s announcement, the expansion in Hungary demonstrates Primark’s continued commitment to the Central and Eastern European region, after successfully opening stores in Slovenia, Poland, the Czech Republic and Romania.
According to the plans, it will also open its first store in Slovakia this year, making Hungary the sixth country in Central and Eastern Europe and the seventeenth globally where a Primark store operates.
Primark operates 416 stores in 15 countries on the European continent and in the United States of America.
The new Budapest store’s offering will include a number of licensed products, including NBA and Disney-branded merchandise, as well as the ever-growing Primark Cares sub-brand, which, true to the chain’s ambition, makes more sustainable fashion affordable. For everyone.
Building on its successful expansion into Central and Eastern Europe that began in 2019, Primark plans to expand its network with new locations in Bucharest, Romania and Lodz and Wroclaw in Poland, as well as opening a store this year in Slovakia. According to the company’s projections, its global store portfolio will consist of 530 stores by 2026.
