The world of technical sports is slowly waking up from its winter sleep, and one sign of this is that the Tournament of Champions (RoC) will take place in Sweden on the last weekend of January. Although the full list is not known yet (see end of article)but among others Valtteri Bottas, Mika Häkkinen, Mick Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel could certainly be taken.
The Cupra concept car, which the Spanish brand dreamed up in 2021, will play a major role on the snow and ice track. Two electric-powered models were also built for the competition, with a peak power of 435 horsepower, but a stable output of 340 horsepower. The model based on the UrbanRebel Racing Concept accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in just 3.2 seconds.
However, no matter how much it is a concept car, it cannot be said that it was ever invented or thought of – one sign of this is that it was built on the standard Volkswagen Group MEB platform, i.e. one electric motor was placed at the front and the other at the rear.
UrbanRebel embodies everything that can be achieved by combining racing and electric
– said Antonino Labette, Cobra’s Director of Strategy and Commercial Operations, adding that the event is an opportunity for the world’s best drivers to show the excitement of such a car.
