Despite regular updates and bug fixes, the harsh reality is that League of Legends is riddled with bugs. After update 13.5, a game-breaking bug appeared in the game, which allows High-ELO players to enter low-level games.

On March 13th, a player reported this in a post In the league’s subreddit, a diamond player kept appearing in Silver Solo Queue matches and did so using their main user instead of Smurf.

The fact is that the player in question did not cheat, but rather exploited a loophole!

“Diamond-level players may be paired with players who have not played a single-ranked singles/double match this season.”

With this said, they can pull the room quality down to a low gold or low platinum level, if they pair up with a user who has a rather poor MMR. This makes their progress much easier. The amount of LP you get for matches will probably be less than usual, but plenty of smooth matches will balance the bill and give you an edge over time.

The bug/loop can be easily replicated as all you have to do is queue up as a Diamond ranked player in the Solo/Duo Queue with a player who hasn’t started their ranks yet.

At the moment, there is still no response from Riot Games regarding the incident, but league players hope that this issue will be resolved as soon as possible.
