Microsoft envied this ability and made its Video Super Resolution feature available on an experimental basis Inside the Edge browser. The service is currently running in the software version available through the Canary channel, and half of the users received it automatically, but it can be activated manually using the “edge://flags/#edge-video-super-resolution” setting if necessary.
Of course, there are prerequisites for playback, for example, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 20, 30, and 40 series or newer and more powerful VGA than AMD Radeon RX 5700, in addition, DRM-free video must be played at a resolution of 720p or less, but a limit is required Minimum is 192 pixels horizontal and vertical. In addition, the device must be connected to an electrical network.
Obviously, the options will expand later, for example, Microsoft is already working on making the system available on laptops with hybrid graphics.
It is not yet known when Microsoft’s Ultra HD video mode will be finalized within the Edge browser, but in due course, the stable version that the company will make available to the masses will be ready.
