Attila Walter, who was a roommate of Tour de France winner Jonas Vingaard at the Jumbo-Visma road cycling team’s twenty-day training camp in Tenerife, will start the season on Thursday.

“This was the training camp of my life! Everything turned out so well that it’s almost like a fairy tale! I was able to excuse my first preparation without any setbacks, problems or illness” – wrote the 24-year-old Hungarian rival on his social media page on Monday.

“I’ve definitely been able to progress professionally, but I’m on the right track to get to the next level as a person and as a teammate, which is what this amazing team says about me!”

Walther reports that everything has been done as professionally as possible in the past few weeks, so nutrition, training, regeneration and mental preparation have taken on a new meaning for him.

“It’s hard to describe what makes this team the best, but perhaps the simplest is that everything happens here for a reason. We do what we do consciously. We calculate as well as we can, because that’s what professional sports is all about these days. Picking a hundred things and doing them all Only one percent better. We don’t want to be good, we want to be the best!” – wrote Walther of the Dutch stable, which will start this season from Thursday in the multi-day Gran Camino race and which, according to its wording, will lead Vingegaard to the overall, as the team also assigns a serious role to it.

Walther also spoke about the biggest star in the team, Dane Jonas Vinggaard, who was his roommate: “He is two years older than me, but he shows the most mature and professional attitude I have seen so far. He was so open and helpful, and his humility was really perfect for me! I hope I will never get used to being in the company of such great heroes.”

Valter Attila has been a Groupama-FDJ contender for the past two years, in 2021 he wore the pink jersey for three days at the Giro d’Italia, and last August he committed himself to Jumbo-Visma for three.
