As is known, the construction of the Hungaroring began on October 1, 1985, and was completed in a record time of 8 months – as the first Formula 1 track behind the Iron Curtain. It was rebuilt twice, the first in 1989 when the triple linden straight was removed, the second in 2003 when the first house and the thirteenth were reduced after the house straight was lowered and a taller straight was built instead. The length of the track decreased first from 4,014 meters to 3,975 metres, then in 2003 it reached its current length to 4,381 metres. In 2016, Hungaroring replaced the wear layer on the entire track of the track from its own resources, which was in great demand according to competitors’ comments.
