The exiled Tibetan government said the Dalai Lama’s actions were “innocent” and misinterpreted, after a Buddhist teacher first kissed a young boy on the lips at a public event in an Indian temple and then asked him to suck his tongue.
According to the government, “His Holiness always lived in holiness, following the life of Buddhist monks, including celibacy. His years of spiritual practice transcend sensual pleasures,” He writes CNN.
According to them, sources linked to China may be behind the distribution of the tongue-sucking video, and “the political aspect of the incident cannot be ignored.”
The 87-year-old Dalai Lama Tendzin Jiakou, the holiest figure in Tibetan Buddhism, has been living in exile in India since 1959, i.e. China’s annexation of Tibet.
