One of the US Air Force’s B-52H Stratofortress flew over the Kaposvár region for an extended period of time last Thursday. The aircraft, codenamed NOBLE41, took off from Romania and entered Hungarian airspace in the afternoon. The heavy bomber then flew over Nagybagum, Nagyatad and Kaposvar for about two hours.
B-52s are long-range heavy bombers capable of carrying nuclear weapons. The best American aircraft had been in Hungarian airspace on other occasions, but the present delay was unusually long.
