Microsoft is experimenting with introducing new functionality.
Statcounter recently published its latest statistics on the current deployment of Windows operating systems, which reveal that the popularity of Windows 11, released in the fall of 2021, is growing, albeit slowly: the new platform is now running on 23% of Windows devices, compared to Windows 10 by 71.45%.
Of course, Microsoft very much likes to tip the scales towards the former, as new features and fine-tuning are constantly arriving in Windows 11. Build 23451, posted on the Insider Dev Channel testing channel, has several interesting features.
One of them is the Facebook widget, which shows the activity associated with our account in compact form on the interface dedicated to the widgets, and after a single click you can go directly to the application. Of course, this means that we also need to have the Facebook app installed to install the tool. By the way, Microsoft will soon activate the tool selection menu, which we wrote about in a separate article.
Another attraction is the “Details” button. It is integrated in the upper right corner of the File Manager and is used to display detailed information about files or folders. The solution is perhaps less intuitive than the decades-old right-click method, but in return it only requires one click, and It is presented in an easy to understand format the information.
Finally, many people can be pleased that one of Windows’ best features, Spotlight, has received 4K support, presenting the most beautiful backgrounds in a more detailed form. Of course, it’s important to note that new features that appear on the Dev Insider channel don’t always make it to the general public, so in theory there’s no guarantee that these functions will be implemented in the public release of Windows 11.
