Bulletstorm VR: the return of virtual reality [VIDEO]

Incuvo is making a multi-platform VR adaptation of their IP People Can Fly.

In Bulletstorm VR, you can assume the role of Grayson Hunt after he is forced to make a difficult decision (survive or take revenge) due to an emergency landing on a deserted resort planet. As an exiled member of the elite group of assassins Dead Echo, Grayson’s blind desire for revenge keeps his team stuck in Stygia, where he can finally confront the leader behind his betrayal, or decide to get his team off the planet alive. So we can plunge into the world of franchising. Because we can do it in virtual reality.

Fight everything from crazy thieves to colossal monsters in the sky. Switch between melee and firearms to stay alive. And there’s no better place to use a power leash than in virtual reality (looks like someone has a BDSM fetish, right?). Bulletstorm’s full arsenal of unique sci-fi weapons will be at your fingertips. We can manipulate our cartridges in the air so that we can effectively eliminate the enemies hiding behind cover.

“Bulletstorm VR retains everything players loved about the original Bulletstorm: the world, characters, and a Skillshot system that encourages creativity and experimentation,” said Kmita Bartosz, Creative Director of People Can Fly, in a press release. “We feel more immersive and intuitive than ever. We’ll show you more at Year-round with Bulletstorm VR coming up!”

Incuvo CEO Andrzej Wychowaniec added: “As a studio that specializes in virtual reality games, Bulletstorm VR is a dream project for us. Shooting is a natural fit for VR, and having Bulletstorm in spades. It also has a cool power steering that is just plain fun.” To use it in VR with motion controls. Add to that the lovable characters and extravagant colorful world, and Bulletstorm VR is the complete package!”

Bulletstorm VR will be released sometime this year for PlayStation VR2, Meta Quest (the newly announced Meta Quest 3 to be discussed later today), and PC (Steam). A resurrection like this is a surprise, but we’ll see how that goes.
