Artificial intelligence, like almost everything these days, is also affecting the field of photography – just think of the new generative AI in Adobe Photoshop. Of course, these and similar devices are mostly made for professional users, but ordinary consumers can’t complain either, because the soon-to-be-released Magic Editor for Google Photos is also an ambitious project.
Plus, genealogy company MyHeritage has also joined the party, which has turned to artificial intelligence to make it easier to preserve families’ memories with its latest app, Reimagine. The main goal of the new application is to help users easily import printed photos stored in albums, and then improve them by improving resolution and fixing scratches and wrinkles.
What’s more, Reimagine can restore colors to black-and-white photos and animate faces—the last feature previously announced by MyHeritage as Deep Nostalgia.
the iOS– And androidTo use the app, which is available for both platforms, photos must be taken from pages of old photo albums. The app recognizes individual photos, cuts them automatically, and saves them as individual photos. Once scanned, you can add additional details like names, dates, and locations to make them easier to find – and then the magic begins.
You can see exactly what the app can do in the video below:
