I wish An incredibly unique Hungarian game is being made

Very talented Hungarian developers create an incredibly unique game.

It’s always a pleasure to announce a new galactic developer video game, especially when it’s incredibly unique like EbiTapes. The last Hungarian work appeared only a few days ago on Steamaccompanied by a demo, which anyone can try freely in exchange for constructive feedback.

It is no coincidence that I ascribe noble epithets to EbiTapes: the light adventure game looks as if we opened a little drawing book at school and then made a cute papier-mâché story out of it – just like in our childhood. Boil all this down to interesting game mechanics, the central element of which is music.

According to the story, the word music has been banned in the world, so it must be smuggled back into daily life under the supervision of the lovely Ebi. In order to do this, however, we need to find proper foundations for making music, which we can discover by wandering around the world—of course, if we only sharpen our ears enough. It can be anything from a cat’s meow, to a grumpy old man’s nervousness, to a snoring, it’s up to us as to which recorder is always at hand. We can edit interesting music and episodes on cassette to our liking, and if we’re particularly proud of one or the other, Ebi can even play a concert for them.

Although at first glance EbiTapes may appear to be created by a mid-sized indie studio, in reality it “only” pays homage to the work of two talented Hungarian developers, Mártoné Kiss and Lillaé Turi. From this you can immediately guess that unfortunately they do not have time for everything, so the adventure of relaxation can only be enjoyed in English as it arises.

The promising and unique game could theoretically be released this year, but before that it will appear at the Steam Next Fest event. I hope I don’t have to say it, but what is for sure: The Wish List is a must-have!
