Hurricanes, snow and wind storms wreak havoc in the central United States

A widespread winter storm area caused damage in the central states of the United States from Texas to northern Minnesota on Tuesday, and tornadoes in the south and heavy blizzards in the north caused disturbances.

Tornadoes formed in at least five places in Texas, according to the National Weather Service, and many people were injured. The storm caused damage to dozens of residences and commercial buildings near Fort Worth, and the stormy weather affected about a thousand flights at Dulles International Airport.

In Louisiana, two people are missing after a tornado formed near the city of Shreveport, and dog rescue units searched for the ruins of buildings.

In Oklahoma, several people were injured in the storms. According to the data of the meteorological service, the wind gusts exceeded 200 kilometers per hour.

In the states of Montana, Colorado and Nebraska, authorities have warned residents of heavy snowfall, and that a snow layer of more than 60 cm in height may form in a short time.

The Nebraska Department of Transportation closed sections of the highway after heavy snow and high winds made traffic dangerous and trucks flipped over.

In some parts of Iowa, South Dakota and Minnesota, authorities have drawn attention to the formation of a two-and-a-half-centimetre ice shield and gusts of wind and asked those who do not need to leave their homes.

A severe storm warning was extended Wednesday to Mississippi and Alabama, as well as parts of Florida.
