I wish If you drop it, the fall-sensing iPhone falls apart

Apple has registered an insanely innovative patent. The idea not only reveals the creativity of its engineers, but also the new direction of the iPhone.

03/27/2023 – There’s no news of an iPhone with a flexible screen yet, but Apple engineers have already come up with a new solution to keep it from falling to the ground as effectively as possible. It doesn’t matter how much they cost or how much you take care of them, your highly regarded iPhone/iPad is bound to drop sometimes, but this can be instantly fatal for a flexible screen.

That’s why they came up with the fall detection innovation in the Apple Witches Kitchen

– It was revealed with a patent recently registered in America. HVG has removed it from the plans: by incorporating a new type of sensor, the device will notice that it has been dropped and, thanks to a trigger mechanism, will partially or completely collapse before it reaches the ground.

At the same time, there is also a difference between the phone falling out of your hand or slipping off the table: the former starts to fall from a higher position, so it will be guaranteed to reset itself, while the latter has much less time to do the same, so it is not certain that It will shut down completely. It is written in the patent that even a device dropped from a lower position will be able to bend at an angle smaller than 180 degrees, so the edges will definitely hit the ground first, not the screen.

This is all well and good, because it turns out that Apple does not want to lag behind other manufacturers for a long time, who are already selling devices with foldable or detachable screens more or less successfully. According to the latest predictions of the famous Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, a foldable iPad with a carbon fiber backing could appear in 2025.
