The mysterious two-meter-long metal object was found in Green Head, 250 kilometers from Perth in Western Australia, on Saturday, and although authorities initially sealed off the area and warned the public to be careful, it was later determined during an investigation that it did not pose a danger.
According to the University of Western Australia, the object that washed ashore is believed to be part of an Indian missile launched a few months ago.
A cylindrical piece of unknown origin was found off the coast of Australia
The Australian Space Agency, which was involved in the investigation, did not rule out that it was a broken piece of a space rocket.
