One of the most anticipated meteor showers of the year, the Perseids, has begun and will continue through September 1.
The meteor shower will peak on August 12th and 13th, so it will be possible to observe most of the meteors after that. If conditions are right, up to 50-100 objects can appear in the sky every hour. This year, compared to last year, those interested will be very lucky, because the full moon will not disturb the view. If there were no clouds in the sky, sky watchers would be able to see a lot of meteors.

It is easy to notice a meteor shower if you get as far away from urban light pollution as possible. It doesn’t hurt to be patient either, as it takes about 20 minutes for the human eye to adjust to the dark.
The Perseids’ parent body is Comet 109P/Swift-Tuttle. As the celestial body’s debris bar enters Earth’s atmosphere, the destruction of the particles creates stunning light phenomena.
