Did you get separated from the Zsiguli on the public road? The Russians did it!

It’s hard to find words for what the team of Garage 54 YouTube channels put together in their workshop from time to time. This time, the Russian experts thought Zsiguli should be cut in half. They’ve tried cutting cars before, but now they’re determined to take the completed “artwork” for a tour of the city. It was therefore taken for granted that the car would have to be cut in half lengthwise, since there were parts needed both at the front and at the back. Here is the result:

Obviously, the front and rear axles are not cut in two, so the car still rolls on four wheels, which is necessary for the stability of the car. Of course, it’s not like half of a Lada is rock solid, driving over potholes and potholes clearly shows how damaging it is to the car’s strength if there are no front and rear windows, and also if the ABC pillars are missing on one side of the car. Even the license plate was cut in two at the back, and the front bumper remained completely faceless. The fact that they still venture into traffic afterwards is pretty funny, but we have to admit, it’s also dangerous. The criteria for passing tests may not include not cutting the body in half, but it is absolutely certain that even the most spoiled test workshop will not allow this, not even in Russia. However, from a technical point of view, almost everything is there, thanks to the intervention it is easy to see how many simple and simple parts the old Lada consisted of. And the fact that it can drive even when cut in half shows what a Zsiguli can put up with. Anyway, the project didn’t take that long to complete due to the simple technical content – in today’s modern car, mechanics would have to think much longer about how to cram so many electronic and other systems into just one side of the car. Fortunately, this wasn’t superfluous here: the engine is fit in front, the fuel tank in the back, and the gearbox and crankshaft nicely in the middle. Thus, only the splashing of water in the passenger compartment created inconvenience, but the driver compensated by getting in and out of the car’s toys.
