FIFA made an official announcement.
The International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) announced that the United States of America will host the Club World Cup, which extends until 2025.
It had already been decided in March that 32 teams would participate in it from 2025, the winners of the prestigious cups in each federation between 2021 and 2024. But what is new is that the tournament, which was previously held in Saudi Arabia and Morocco in 2023, will move to the United States. According to the FIFA article, the organization of this event will be a major test for the United States of America, which will partially host the World Cup in 2026.
The Club World Cup will be held this year in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the last time in the form of seven teams, and representatives of the host country and the champions of the six federations will participate in it. FIFA announced in March that the tournament would take place every four years from 2025, with the four winners from each of the prestigious continental series qualifying between 2021 and 2024. This means that from Europe, Chelsea, Real Madrid and the final winner, Manchester City, are already designated entrants.
At the same time, FIFA also decided to extend the submission period for the 2030 World Cup by a quarter: the projects will be submitted at the next meeting of the FIFA Council in September-October, and the decision of the director at the end of next year will be decided by the Federation Congress.
