It’s been known for some time that the search giant will replace third-party advertising cookies in the Chrome browser, and now we’re one step closer to all of that, because the latest update to the browser already includes functionality that will begin to gradually introduce APIs.




Google’s Privacy Sandbox initiative, which replaces third-party browser cookies with a series of APIs, finally kicked off with the latest version of Chrome, which now enables API measurements. The Themes API allows the browser to share information with third parties about a user’s interests while maintaining privacy.

Google plans to eliminate third-party cookies for one percent of Chrome users in the first three months of 2024, helping developers deepen their real-world analysis of how new APIs will change browsing and online tracking. After the testing phase, Google is currently keeping its plans for It will completely remove third party cookies by the third quarter of 2024.
