Instead of HUF 13000, you can get one of the best RPGs of recent years for free

There are no traps or gimmicks here, it really offers one of the most successful role-playing games of recent years for free.

11.08.2023 – Now that Baldur’s Gate 3 has made a lot of people want role-playing games with a more classic approach, slower paced and much deeper than modern titles, perhaps more people will be willing to plunge into another, but no less successful RPG, Torment: Tides of Numenera – especially since it has been distributed free of charge for a while.

The role-playing game released in 2017 is the spiritual successor to Planescape: Torment, set in the 1999 Dungeons & Dragons universe, but in contrast the new action directs the player to a completely different fantasy world, The Ninth World written by Monte Cook . However, the gameplay – although it has been updated in several places – hasn’t changed much, that is, the new Torment is more focused on building the world, interactions and conversations between characters than on combat.

The choice of the universe is also not accidental: in 2012, Monte Cook, known in D&D circles, created the latest tabletop role-playing game, set in a post-apocalyptic science fiction setting. Numenera Idea on Kickstarter. With the role-playing game, it not only managed to raise so much money, 25 times the originally targeted budget, that nothing could stand in the way of the 2013 release.

However, Cook admitted at the start of the project that he drew a lot from Planescape: Torment when creating his universe, which had a major influence on him before the turn of the millennium. This is likely how the inXile developers got the affinity to continue the series, the plot of which will actually be set in The Ninth World. Even in the same year, the Kickstarter page for Tides of Numenera was launched, the funds required to create it were raised in just 6 hours, which eventually became one of the largest crowdfunding portal records with its $4 million support.

After some delays, Torment: Tides of Numenera finally came out in 2017 and fully delivered on its promises.

At the same time, while it was a great piece of work, usually rated at 90%, the genre is hardcore enough to avoid a wider audience. The new Baldur’s Gate, which is not only available on Steam, but also in the PlayStation Store, could change this. It’s a great success (It has already surpassed Spider-Man 2 in console pre-orders.)

Agony: Tides of Numenera usually sold for 13,000 HUF, but now anyone and everyone who is curious about the stories of this particularly wonderful and diverse world can download it for free. The game is about You can buy it from Robot Cache store, The only understandable condition is registration. It was related to all sorts of things, for example you can do it with a Steam or Xbox profile, and then you can play an RPG, which is 40-50 hours of adventure.

In any case, it might still be worth looking around the Robot Cache interface, as the store was created specifically for reselling digital games. It is based on the blockchain system, which allows sellers to sell their games to earn money. By the way, the platform was developed by one of the leaders of inXile, Brian Fargo He invented it and brought it to life, so it’s a reliable and valid shop.
