At Xiaomi’s recent presentation, they unveiled not only a bendable smartphone, but also a huge tablet called Pad 6 Max. Although the device with a 14-inch screen is much larger than the 11-inch Pad 6 Pro, the two tablets share many of the same features.
The Xiaomi Pad 6 Max has a 14-inch screen, which is 62 percent larger than the 11-inch Pro model. The panel itself has a 10-bit resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels, HDR10 and Dolby Vision support, 600 nits brightness, and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is protected from physical impacts by Gorilla Glass 5.
The tablet is equipped with 8 speakers, and they all support Dolby Atmos. Of course, this screen could be perfect for gaming, but due to its size, it is also excellent for productivity. Thanks to the device-driven MIUI for Pad interface, we can run up to 4 apps at the same time on Pad 6 Max’s gigantic screen.
These exploits obviously require a lot of hardware power, but since the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset takes care of this, the user experience is expected to be smooth. The basic configuration has 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, but the device can be ordered with up to 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of internal storage.
The hardware components are powered by a 10,000mAh battery, as per the manufacturer’s promise, the battery can keep the device running for two days on a single charge.
This particular charge can be done at a maximum of 67 watts, and it only takes 30 minutes to reach 50 percent and a total of 68 minutes to reach 100 percent. Xiaomi Pad 6 Max also supports reverse charging, that is, it can also be used as a power bank, in such cases supplying our other devices with a capacity of 33W.
The Xiaomi Pad 6 Max has a 50MP camera on the back, and a 20MP photo recorder on the side facing the screen, aligned in the middle of the longest side (so, no notch was required, unlike the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra and Tab S9 Ultra). The device has a warning LED that flashes when the camera is in use.
In addition to the tablet, the manufacturer also offers a keyboard case in which the buttons are full-size, and we also get a large trackpad. By the way, the keyboard itself is removable, so you can type from a distance, while the tablet is still attached to the spring-loaded stand. You can also buy a pen next to the tablet, the pen has a 5ms delay, and can also act as a virtual laser pointer during presentations.
The Xiaomi Pad 6 Max features a one-piece metal design, measures just 6.53mm thick, and weighs 750g when placed on the scales. The device is available in black and silver. This particular distribution already exists, for the moment only in China, there has been no talk of an international launch yet. Converted from local currency, an 8/256GB configuration costs about 184,000 yuan, a 12/256GB variant costs 194,000 yuan, and a 12/256GB package costs 213,000 forints.
The bundled model with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of internal storage costs 233,000 HUF in local currency, but those who get the device going quickly can get a 10,000 HUF discount on each configuration. It costs 38,000 yuan for a keyboard case and 24,000 forints for a stylus, which must be purchased separately.
