A man who left his wife at home and traveled to every country in the world during a trip that lasted nearly 10 years says the past decade has been like a “zombie”.
44-year-old Dane Thor Pedersen has always been enthusiastic about impossible challenges and never backs down when he has to push himself to the limits. On what started out as an ordinary weekday, he finally decided to embark on the adventure of a lifetime when his father sent him an email in which he found an article about people who traveled to every country. After a little research, Thor realized that no one had ever made such a journey without flying, so he set himself the challenge of visiting all 203 countries without using a plane.
The adventurer left his home country on October 10, 2013 to embark on a four-year trip around the world, leaving behind his wife of 40 years, Lou, who is a doctor. Thor’s journey, which lasted nine years, nine months, and 16 days, ended in May 2023 and recently arrived in Copenhagen, Denmark.
