This popular tourist attraction could collapse at any moment

Dotted with hundreds of small islands in Ha Long Bay in Vietnam, a special rock formation sticks out that looks like people kissing.

However, experts warn that the rocks are constantly being eroded by rising sea levels and fishing boats come too close, not always operating legally, and the situation is made worse by unregulated tourism.

And when the Vietnam Institute of Geosciences and Mineral Resources was conducting the necessary research for the study, they also saw a tourist boat passing near the rock, stopping only nineteen meters from the rock. Scientists warn that the formation, which is already showing cracks, could collapse if steps are not taken to protect it.

At low tide, you can really see how shaken these rocks are, but many other notable tourist attractions have also been seriously damaged in recent years by the waves.

If they want to keep the rock, new rules will need to be introduced at bay, for example boat speeds must be limited to five to ten kilometers per hour, and it will also be important to encourage local fishermen not to sail near the attraction. Cement can be placed in cracks in rocks to strengthen their foundations.

Recently, another remarkable natural formation disappeared forever, and one of Sicily’s most important sights was badly damaged.
