Lőrinc Mészáros, owner of the Mészáros Group, emphasized during the donation presentation on Tuesday: As the group of companies develops, they still feel it is their duty and responsibility to help those in need.
He said that through the national Pro Filii Foundation, which brings together the charitable activities of the corporate group and was established in 2021, it provides 1 billion forints worth of support to those in need on an annual basis.
Lorenc Mezaros added: The aim of sports donations is also to encourage young people to exercise, play sports and lead a healthy lifestyle.
“Sport teaches humility, endurance and mutual respect, and a team jersey also provides support,” said Christina Toth, Director of Social Responsibility of the Mészáros Group, and General Secretary of the Pro Filii Foundation.
He highlighted: The sportswear of Magyar Sportmárka Zrt., founded at the end of 2017, has already been chosen by many professional, amateur and youth teams.
He noted that the goal of the Pro Filii Foundation is to make the 2Rule experience possible for children who have not had the opportunity to play in professional jerseys. That is why more than 70,000 sportswear products worth 200 million HUF have been given to children in need.
Tamas Deutsch, President of the National Association of Sports Associations, which received a donation of HUF 76 million, thanked the Mészáros Group and the Foundation, which, in addition to sponsoring and caring for others, also has the idea to support young people who wear sportswear, reports MTI.
Katalin Kardosny Gyorko, President of the National Association of Large Families, which received support of 66 million HUF, emphasized that sports are not just an after-school program for children, but rather teach them teamwork, struggle and team spirit.
He added that although the percentage of large families in society is five to six percent, 15 percent of children are brought up in such families.
Anna Nagy, President of the Single Parents Club Foundation, which received 45 million HUF in support, spoke about the fact that half a million children are growing up in single-parent families in Hungary today. More than 40 percent of these families are in a difficult financial situation, and in 90 percent of them – about 260,000 families – only mothers raise children.
Gabriela Bagi, Chief Financial Officer of the Foundation for Supporting Vulnerable Youth Living in State Welfare (ÁGOTA), which received a donation of HUF 13 million, noted that they view sports as a preventive measure that helps them spend their money. Free time is useful, and the sports equipment they get will also motivate the kids.
