According to Todd Howard, if Starfield exists on PC, it’s not the game’s fault

During one of the interviews, the game director expressed his opinion regarding the optimization of the game, and according to his opinion, PC players should consider optimizing their consoles.

Bloomberg interviewed Todd Howard and Phil Spencer, where they asked Starfield’s director a player-voted question about why the game wasn’t optimized for PC. After the obvious surprise, Howard explained that it’s a next-gen PC game that pushes the boundaries of technology, so players wouldn’t hurt to upgrade their machines with more modern components.

The answer is of course divided by the players, many of them do not even understand it, since they have not had any problems running the game. On the other hand, others were angry at the game’s next-gen benchmark, hitting a loading screen every step of the way, and their RTX 4090 barely able to maintain 60 FPS in places (it’s worth noting that the commenter tried this) when Using DLSS Model 3, so it’s not mentioned here that Bethesda is definitely the bad guy).

Those who did not encounter the issue, or get it resolved, mostly reported that they installed the game on an SSD, which significantly reduced the time of loading screens. Depending on the game’s system requirements, you don’t need such a warped machine to run it, although meeting the minimum requirements will not be enough at 60 FPS.
