A Bethesda video game has never opened so well, so Starfield sets a new record. Of course, it also takes a skillful Xbox strategy.
09/20/2023 – Side Xbox did not reveal details about how many people boarded a spaceship on each platform. On the other hand, the fact that it’s only available on Xbox and PC, and that the world has only been able to play it for a few weeks, makes the peak it reached yesterday truly impressive.
And based on the post on Starfield’s official X page, the number of players has reached 10 million in just two weeks. It’s a very convincing statement, but it seeks to influence somewhat from Xbox, because it clearly does not mean that the title is actually a game that has been bought by ten million copies. Most of the total number comes from Xbox Game Pass subscriptions, and since it’s a first-party game from Microsoft, it’s available from the day of its release to anyone with a higher Game Pass Core subscription.

What does Starfield’s ten million record mean?
Xbox notes that this number is the largest opening for any Bethesda game to date. Starfield was released in Early Access on September 1st and was released wide on September 6th. This means he made a light-year’s journey to 10 million people in just two weeks. No matter how you look at it, it is a resounding success, but the question is whether it will be able to maintain the momentum over the long term. Continued interest will determine whether Starfield becomes a game as highly regarded as Bethesda’s big-name classics, including Skyrim. At the moment, public opinion treats him more harshly than critics: the latter got an 84 metascoreBut the public currently rates it 6.6.
However, there are fewer and fewer problems with accessibility to Starfield:
Starfield can be played even on the most bad PCs with through-the-ceiling graphics
