Youhuu, the rakago, mascot of the Budapest World Athletics Championships starting on August 19, has been introduced and, according to organizers, will provide visitors to the competition with an experience of a lifetime.
“We are showing a miracle, the Youhuu activity itself will be a miracle and so will the entire World Cup, which awaits us here in 15 days,” Balazs Nemeth, CEO of Budapest 2023 Zrt., said at the press conference on Friday, then added. :
Being with Youhuu is an experience, and I would like the 400,000 people here to experience it immediately: seeing him, applauding the master of fun, and laughing with him is a huge experience, and it’s probably not an exaggeration to say it’s an experience of a lifetime.
Balázs Nemeth put it this way: The mascot will play a major role in bringing the most entertaining World Cup ever to Budapest from August 19 to 27, and many musicians, stuntmen, attractions and games will also contribute.
For this to be the best World Cup, we need such a beautiful facility, 400,000 fans, athletes with amazing skills and a great atmosphere, which will be managed by Youhuu, the rakago, who is so fun and captivating.
– The mascot was invited to the National Sports Center, who entered the field with the young athletes from MATE-GEAC and gave a taste of his mischievous nature, said the State Secretary responsible for Sports, Adam Schmidt, and together with Balazs Nemeth, the mascot was invited to the National Sports Centre.
The mascot plays a very difficult and important role, and in just a few moments it can make the World Championship experience more decisive and unforgettable for the spectators: for example, at the finish line, when receiving a World Championship medal. He seems to be making good use of this moment, and in this Youhuu is a complete professional
– He is very confident in the success of hammer thrower Bence Halach, but there is no day that he does not want to watch, because he will be able to support a Hungarian athlete every day, stressed Balázs-Pájes, who also revealed that August 20 promises to be one of the most promising days. The World Cup in Budapest – which will be the biggest sporting event in Hungary’s history – will be held at the National Sports Center and in Húsok Square, which hosts street running and walking competitions.
