This year, the Autumn Museum Festival, which will be held nationwide on September 25 and November 12, focuses on the relationship between science and technology, the authentic transmission of scientific results, and the links between natural sciences and museums.

One of the most important tasks of museum educators is to provide members of the younger generation with experiences that they cannot have in the digital world – emphasized Laszlo Zende, Head of the Museums Department of the Ministry of Culture and Innovation, at the press conference at the event on Thursday.

He added: The program’s grant of 30 million HUFs for this year will enable smaller local museums and galleries to join the national chain.

Zsolt Bernert, Director General of the Hungarian Museum of Natural Sciences, emphasized: In today’s world, the role of museums in exchanging authentic scientific information has become stronger. One tool for this is the display of original, verified materials from museums.

Miklós Čiri, General Director of the Zapadtir Ethnographic Museum, emphasized that this year, with the participation of 127 museums, the public is waiting for more than four hundred programs across the country.

“The world of museums is the most exciting and diverse area of the cultural landscape that offers the greatest amount of opportunities, and visitors need us,” the Director-General stressed, adding that, however, there is always a need for highlights. When can focus on these institutions.

Majdolna Naji, Director of the Museum of Open Ethnography – Center for Education and Museum Methodology, said that the series of events will begin with the annual opening of the National Museum’s Pedagogy on September 25, during which the level of Museum Pedagogy, Lifetime Museum Pedagogy Awards, will be awarded. An Achievement Award and family-friendly museum awards will be presented.

He explained that the institutions participating in the series of programs organized their programs this year around ten axes. New this year is the Only Naturally theme, which focuses primarily on programs related to natural sciences, knowledge of nature and environmental awareness. This year, the theme targeting young people is on the right track! The subtitle explains the ways in which museums can address young people and how they can support them in developing their skills or choosing a career.

Among the programs related to the accessible museum theme, the institutions will organize sessions for people with physical, mental and social disabilities, and will also offer programs that transport the museum contents to educational institutions or homes for the elderly.

Under the subtitle “Museum Backstage Secrets,” those interested can learn about materials that are closed to visitors of museum institutions on weekdays, or the works of museum professionals. The purpose of the topic “Reloading with Our Values” is to offer protection of intellectual cultural heritage with creative museum tools. The programs related to the Veet Museum aim to maintain health and achieve physical and mental health using museum tools, and the museum’s activities during the fall holiday provide entertainment opportunities for children and families.

As part of the Museum’s Autumn Farewell Party, visitors are invited to craft activities and events related to the famous autumn days, but they also organize a Teachers’ and Kindergarten Day, where exhibition spaces can show the ways in which they can support general education and children’s development. Round table discussions, conferences, book presentations and workshops related to the main theme of this year’s festival are organized under the theme of Professional Programs.
