The Belarusian President and Putin have agreed that this will happen now

A tribal leadership exercise has begun in Belarus, within the framework of which the joint command of the Russian and Belarusian regional forces will exercise decision-making in order to ensure the security of the two countries for a week, according to the Ministry of Defense in Minsk. Announced on Tuesday.

According to information, the training comes within the framework of preparations for the joint military maneuver between the two countries scheduled to take place in Russia next September.

Representatives of the military departments of the two countries will work on joint planning for the deployment of forces based on the experience of armed conflicts in past years. According to information from the Belarusian Army, the joint operation aims to improve cooperation between the military commands of the two countries, and is the next step in preparing for this year’s military exercise codenamed “Alliance Shield 2023”, which will be held in Russia in September.

Belarusian President Aliaksandr Lukashenko announced on October 10 last year that as part of the agreements concluded with Moscow, the creation of joint regional forces would begin, the basis of which would be Belarusian soldiers. In mid-October, Minsk announced the arrival of the first trains of Russian soldiers to the republic.

Moscow and Minsk will continue joint exercises and other combat training activities, including as part of regional forces, Russian President Vladimir Putin said after talks with Lukashenko in the Belarusian capital on December 19. At the beginning of January, the Belarusian Ministry of Defense reported that it continues to strengthen these forces and prepare them to carry out defense tasks of the two allied countries.
