DANIELS, West Virginia (WVNS) – The West Virginia Board of Education hosted the “Wild and Wonderful Fall CTE Principals Conference” at the Resort in Glade Springs Thursday morning.
A national celebrity visited with students and staff at the West Virginia Board of Education’s “Wild and Wonderful Fall Principals’ Conference.”
Emily Calandrelli is the host of “Emily’s Wonder Lab” on Netflix. Calandrelli is also a Morgantown native and graduate of West Virginia University.
Calandrelli says she would love to return to her home state. She enjoys showing us how fun and cool science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, or “STEM,” is.
“I’m a big advocate of STEM and teaching young kids about it, and CTE is a way to provide these opportunities for them to succeed in their careers at a younger age.”
Students from Daniels Elementary School had the opportunity to watch Calandrelli perform science experiments and talk about the importance of STEM.
“We heard one student say, ‘This was the best field trip ever,’ so I think it had a really big impact on the students here today,” said Angie Gardner, WVDE coordinator.
Emily’s Wonder Lab can be found in the Kids section on Netflix platforms.
