As is known, there have been several conflicts in recent months between the government and residents concerned about the expansion of the battery factory: the last time local residents organized a demonstration in April to demand safer operation of the Samsung factory.
Zusa Bodnar, president of the environmental protection and city protection association Göd-ÉRT, told our newspaper that the South Korean company repeatedly violates disaster, fire and occupational safety rules, as well as environmental protection, seriously endangering the health of its employees. The employees, residents and even the surrounding settlements are having safety as well.
Thousands of people live within a few kilometers of a battery factory, but the majority have no idea what to do or where to run in the event of an industrial disaster or any similar event.
They want to make sure that the factory operates in a safe and environmentally friendly way, said Zsuzsa Bodnár. He also stressed that their association is not a political organization, and that they do not want their actions to be exploited by any candidate in the upcoming municipal elections.
