He described his predecessor, Donald Trump, as a danger to democracy during an election event in Arizona for US President Joe Biden.
In doing so, he launched another attack on his expected Republican rival in the 2024 presidential election. Joe Biden said that democracies can die if people remain silent.
In Arizona, he spoke about how the authoritarian approach of the MAGA (Make America Great Again) movement started by former President Donald Trump and his extremist supporters threatens the image and future of the United States. As he said in his speech: Democracy is the rule of the people, not the rule of money and power, and most importantly of all, it does not mean the rule of the individual. He added that democracy means rejecting the abuse of political power.
Based on American opinion polls, satisfaction with President Biden is currently stagnant, and one of the biggest doubts about him is that he has already reached eighty. He once had to interrupt a speech in Arizona because he was booed, and questioned why he had not yet declared a climate emergency in the United States. Joe Biden warned the shouter to be patient and promised he would be able to ask his questions in person.
Among the Republican presidential candidates, Trump has a significant lead in the battle for the 2024 presidential election against the other seven candidates based on public opinion polls.
