Today, Saturday, the eighth day of the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, the women’s marathon race was held in the capital, and was won by Ethiopian Amani Beresu Shankule with a time of 2:24:23. Among the Hungarian competitors, Nora Szabó was ranked 24th and Katalin Kovacs-Jarami was ranked 57th.

The women’s marathon started early in the morning at 7am on Budapest Street. Two Hungarians, Nora Szabó and Katalin Kovacs Jarami, ran down the field starting with Hosok Tere.
The Ethiopians dominated the race, especially in the second half of the distance, and finally Amani Beriso Shankulli won the marathon with a time of 2:24:23.
