We were spoiled for choice at this year’s wine festival at Buda Castle

Despite the sweltering heat, Buda Castle was full on Saturday afternoon, and wine tasting was made more difficult in the heat, and visitors explored the wineries in the afternoon with a glass of prosecco, champagne or white wine in hand.

As the sun set, more full-bodied red wines appeared, for example at the Zsolt Maul winery in Vilanj, where we could taste one of its great prides, Lator. It’s a well-made Cabernet Franc, but there was also a lot to taste specifically during the festival.

There was no shortage of red wines in South American wineries either, with Malbec, increasingly popular here, taking the prize, straight from the Andes, and Tannat, also spiced with a Latin temperament, coming from the Atlantic. coast. For the adventurous, the flavors of Latin America are enhanced.

Anyone interested in winemaking can participate in exciting masterclasses, and even today can participate in the organization of Kóstolom Winebar Buda. Participants can also meet winemakers at pop-up wine tastings.

It is difficult to list what happened in Buda Castle during these four days, but it is certain that those who visited it were able to learn about Hungarian wine culture and wineries and taste more delicious wines.
