“We are always dealing with daily crises, and no one is doing anything to stop the flow,” complains an official in the border city of El Paso, Texas, about the wave of migration coming from Mexico. The settlement reached the limits of its capacity, for only in September about forty thousand immigrants crossed here into the United States. In addition, the city must take care not only of their accommodation, but also of their transportation, since 99 percent of them travel from here to major American cities. Deutsche Welle report.
US President Joe Biden recently approved the construction of a 32-kilometer section of fence on the Mexican border. The fence is being built in the southern part of Texas, in Starr County, where many people have recently crossed the border from Mexico. The Biden administration is under increasing pressure on immigration. So far this year, more than 245,000 people have entered the United States in the Rio Grande Valley alone.
The fence to be built on the southern border of the United States was an important plan of Donald Trump, which Democrats strongly opposed during his presidency. In his 2020 presidential campaign, Joe Biden promised not to build more walls if elected.
