Based on simple descriptions, we can retrieve images directly from the search engine.
Artificial Intelligence is coming to the fore in more and more places, which makes it certain that it is evolving rapidly. With the help of this, for example, one of the dead voice actors of Cyberpunk 2077 was recently revived, but we are not far from using artificial intelligence to extract sound from both still images and silent videos.
Now, of course, most of the big tech companies have joined the party in one form or another, and we only have to think about the jobs offered by Facebook, Android, or Spotify, all of which have experimented with the possibilities offered by artificial intelligence. The other day, Google also made its own AI-based image generator available, which many users can already start to recognize.
Those who previously joined the Google Search Labs program, through which experimental functionality can be tested in the early stages, now have access to the so-called Search Genetic Experience (SGE) program, which generates images based on simple but even complex descriptions. With the help of artificial intelligence. It’s not particularly complicated to use, we basically just state what we want to see, and then the engine throws hundreds of options in front of us in a split second. By the way, the function is also available when searching in the Google Photos tab, where you can also retrieve it in seconds.
Naturally, as in previous similar cases, many concerns arose about the ethical use of the search-generated experience, so Google implemented a number of security measures just in case. The system adds watermarks to AI-generated content, for example, and highly realistic content has also been restricted by software, so for example celebrities and well-known people will not appear in photos.
Google’s attempt is certainly not the first among AI-based image generators. OpenAI has also come up with its own development previously (DALL-E), but also includes software like Midjourney, which is perhaps the most popular recently. However, we will certainly have to wait a long time for the Google SGE function to appear, since the Search Labs program of the big company is currently not available in our country, so we will be able to try photography only after it is introduced or the implementation of the technology is completed.
