The 2023-2024 eight-round Superprestige Series, classified as C1 on the UCI competition calendar, got underway in Overijse, Belgium. DruivenCross is considered by many to be the father of all cyclo-cross racing, as we are talking about one of the oldest cross-country cycling competitions.

The kids completed five laps of the wooded track full of turns. More than seventy cyclists took part in the race, among them Barnabas Vaas (Cube-Csömör) who emerged victorious in a close battle, defeating Belgian Arthur van den Poort (AA Drink Young Lions), thus gaining thirty points from the UCI World Ranking.

Meanwhile, several Hungarian cyclists also competed in the C2 GP Trnava class. The Holy Saturday competition was the third round of the Slovak Cup series. The Under-15 age group completed their race in the rain, making the already fast track even more technical. Despite all this, Daniel Szelassi (Superior Racing Team) competed excellently, finally reaching the finish line solo, winning a good advantage by twenty seconds, while Agoston Molnar (Delta MTB Sopron) also made it into the top ten, finishing in Second place. Respectable seventh place

In the Under-17 category, Benedek Bernsee (Superior Racing Team) did not start the competition well, as his chain fell, and as a result he had to come back from around 20th place, which he eventually managed to do. He did so well that he crossed the finish line in third place.

The young boys have already completed seven laps of the 2.6 km track. By the time they started, the rain had stopped, and even the track was mostly dry, so the field of over forty people could compete in very different conditions than the younger ones. Zsombor Takács (Superior Racing Team) left no question marks this time either, beating his main rival Czech Patrik Lienert by fifty seconds, thus collecting another thirty points in the UCI world rankings.

In the women’s elite category, Regina Prochner (GreenZone ZKSE) excelled and secured seventh place with a value of six UCI points.

The Hungarian juniors are still doing well in the current world rankings: Zsombor Takács is in third place with 150 points, and Barnabas Fas is in seventh place with 127 points.
