The girl, Maggie MacNeil, realized that those who did not have another sport should do it before it was a similar version of the American Games.
She won five gold medals for a total of seven at Santiago 2023. She set a record for the most gold medals won by a Canadian athlete in the same four-year edition of the Continental Games.
MacNeill won a total of seven medals in Santiago with teammate Marie-Sophie Harvey. They were given every second two Canadian athletes who were decorated at such Games, after Willie Wheeler received more than one medical medal from the Panamericans in 1963. What do these Canadian athletes want, who received more medals in a similar participation in the Games.
She delivered some of the performances that made Maggie an exceptional athlete during her annual years as Équipe Canada representative.
The rain of the panam
Mac Neil made a strong impression on the premier Jeux Panaméricains. Even before the competition began, her image could be found everywhere because she was chosen by Panam Sports to be one of their ambassadors for the Santiago 2023 Games.
Once the swim trials started, she was everywhere on the podium. On the first day, she was a member of the quartet that won gold in the women’s 4 x 100-meter freestyle relay. This is the second day in which the main finisher was a gold medalist in the lead, a 100-meter race with a Panamerican Games record of 56.94 seconds. She also added a bronze medal in the 4 x 100 meter freestyle relay to her collection. Triple relay, a great performance helped allow Canada to reach the podium.
On the third day, she again made the high podium, including the entire 100-meter freestyle, and set another Pan American Games record with a time of 53.64 seconds. Before the end of the day, she also won a silver medal with the 4 x 100 meter quad.
The Jour 4 allowed Mac Neil to carry four media from the games, while the distance that ended with par in the first show was 50 meters free, a distance that still stands, and will no longer be repeated. Lots of international experience.
She concluded the competition on the fifth day with a gold medal in the women’s 4 x 100 meter relay.
2019: An unexpected entry into the international scene
It’s hard to imagine McNeil taking part in his first World Aquatics Championships, now that he’s four years away. These international events are exceptional! In her first international senior competition, she beat a real star, Sweden’s Sarah Sjöström, to become world champion in the 100 metres. MacNeil’s time of 55.83 seconds set a Canadian record, an Americas record, and a Commonwealth record, beating the reigning Olympic champion, quadruple world champion, and world record holder in cette épreuve.

To this, it is easy to add a bronze medal from the women’s relays 4 x 100 m libre and 4 x 100 m four times. It comes as no surprise that it was named “Reveal of the Year” by Swimming Nation Canada.
Tokyo 2020: The start of the wonderful Olympic Games
Mac Neil attended a very long time before participating in the first Olympic Games. As with many athletes during the first year of the pandemic, she showed her creativity to keep up the rhythm and practice time in the pool in the family’s backyard. This is definitely determined by the fruits when the occasion of the Olympic Games is over.

Mac Neil earned Canada’s first gold medal Tokyo 2020, Ainsi’s cell status was consolidated with the 100m Babylon. It is also full of many observers with such energetic people. 2023: Back to the podium
Having been given the healthy attention he deserves, in 2023, Mac Neil is ready to return to competing in singles competition and enter a higher level.
