It is able to use its existing optical infrastructure to provide the service.
Another major milestone Announce Internet service provider Google Fiber, which is available in some cities in the United States, will be able to provide 20 Gigabit Internet connectivity in some service areas in the near future. The company’s packages have the same upload and download speeds, and on paper customers get 2.5 GB/s speed in both directions with its advanced package.
The service provider, using its own optical infrastructure, has been offering 8GbE packages in many areas since last year, and with the help of Nokia 25G PON technology, these networks can be accelerated to 20GbE quite easily.
Details of the new maximum speed package aren’t clear yet, and the monthly fees haven’t been revealed either, but for context, an 8GB package costs $150, or 54,000 Hungarian forints. In the first place, the service provider intends to conduct a live public test, and customers living in the relevant areas will be notified in the near future about the availability of the package.
