The Times of Israel reported that Meir, a 38-year-old reservist, was one of five soldiers from the 697th Battalion killed in an explosion in a tunnel near a mosque in the Beit Hanoun area.
Fauda, which means chaos in Arabic, was created by Lior Raz and Avi Issakharov, two former soldiers in the Israeli Armed Forces, and Raz plays the commander of a secret counter-terrorism unit in the Israeli army called Mostarabim.
The series’ co-creator mourned Meir as someone who “had a heart of gold.”
I loved you, Matan. You have always been by my side, every moment
