At the signing ceremony held in the renovated village hall, Mayor László Szabó recalled the history of the Koroultaj. He said that 14 years ago, András Bíró and Zsolt Zsolt had been planning to organize the Hungarian tribal gathering in their living room, which has now developed into the largest tradition-preservation event in Europe. He added that at the time they had no idea what a huge task, responsibility and opportunity they had undertaken, which opened a new chapter in BoJack’s life. The joint work will continue next year, and they are already preparing for next year’s big holiday, the 7th Koroultage. László Szabó confirmed that since 2010, the Bugac name has been merged with Kurultaj. The name Bojak is known not only in Hungary, but throughout the Hunnic and Turkic world and is identified with the holiday. Among the Turkic peoples, Hungary and Bocak command unimaginable respect for hosting the great meeting of related peoples. This is confirmed by the fact that Sandor Lesak, the main sponsor of the Koroultaj, was among the first to receive an invitation to attend the Turkish Council meeting, as an invitee. This was also confirmed by the investigation of the city of Uchisar – detailed by the mayor.
Zsolt András Biro, President of the Magyar Turan Foundation, also expressed his happiness that the two settlements concluded their relationship with a cooperation agreement through Koroultaj. As he said, this is another link between the Turkish and Hungarian peoples. Judge Zsolt Andras also spoke about the fact that Korultaj’s objectives coincide on many points with the objectives and strategy of the Hungarian National Government, as well as with most elements of the Government’s Eastern Opening Policy.
Osman Suslu, mayor of the city of Öcsar, spoke about the fact that Turks do not view Hungarians as friends, but as brothers. He said that the Uchisar settlement, located in the wonderful Cappadocia region of central Turkey, is a world-famous tourist site, and Bogac is a particularly famous place: a place of pilgrimage for peoples of Turkic and Hun consciousness, the site of the largest meeting between the Huns and the Turks. Thus, the idea of bringing closer relations between them was clear. The Turkish mayor confirmed that after signing the contract, they would like to participate in the corollatag and help the organizers. Meanwhile, Turkey, including Cappadocia and Uchisar, welcomes Hungarian visitors with great warmth.
According to parliamentarian Sandor Leszak, the Kurultaj region is a rightfully recognized area of strength in government policy to which EU countries are paying more and more attention. He stressed that the brotherly settlement relationship is not only related to the corollary, but rather it is important to expand cooperation to include all areas of life. This process also fits into the group of related peoples in the Hungarikum Liget and the soon-to-be-started faculties, one drawing specifically on the kurultage and its intellectual past, present, and future, and the other focusing on the Turkish language—Hungarian relations explained its mother-in-law.
