North Korea announced that the spy satellite it launched took pictures of the White House and the Pentagon

2023. November 28 – 08:13

A recently launched North Korean spy satellite captured images of the White House, the Pentagon and US aircraft carriers at Norfolk Naval Base, North Korea’s Central News Agency reported, according to MTI, on Tuesday, local time.

According to the information, the footage, which also showed the Virginia Airport and the shipyard in Newport News, was viewed by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on Monday evening. The Korean Central News Agency reported that one of the photos showed four nuclear-powered American aircraft carriers and a British aircraft carrier. However, North Korea has not released the images taken by the spy satellite.

On the evening of November 21, Pyongyang launched its first military spy satellite into orbit, which it claims is used to monitor the movements of US and South Korean forces. The satellite, named Malligjong-1, was launched with the newly developed Csollima-1 launch vehicle, after the communist country unsuccessfully attempted to launch it in May and August.

Pyongyang has announced plans to launch more satellites in the near future.
Washington and Seoul condemned North Korea’s launch of a satellite, saying the move violated UN Security Council sanctions.
