OnePlus unlocked in tear-off video

If you remember, at the beginning of December they posted a video in which they tested the durability of the OnePlus Open with a bendable screen. Registered by Zack “Deeper Grooves At Level Seven” Nelson, the smartphone has surprisingly survived all the challenges, even bending. If you’re wondering why the phone survived the YouTuber’s harsh tests, you should watch his new video in which he takes the device apart.

What’s less surprising is that the bendable screen is covered in very thin glass, sandwiched between the screen and the plastic protective cover. This protects to some extent, but it is worth being careful because it can easily be damaged by a nail. The back of the display panel is made of carbon fiber, and the hinge screws are made of titanium. By the way, there are a lot of screws inside the smartphone, about 80 pieces. Removing the batteries is a very difficult task, as they do not have tabs to help them get them out.

In the case of the smartphone, the manufacturer’s marketing vaguely refers to unusual materials, such as titanium alloy and carbon fibre, without explaining their content and nature in more detail. Now you might consider whether this is the kind of brilliant marketing that Apple usually uses, or rather misleading advertising based on exaggerations. Because although the mentioned materials may be present in the device, some special screws do not help much, for example, in reducing the weight of the device. Anyway, feel free to watch the video, it might be useful even if you’re not into technology.
