Wrestling Canada Lutte (WCL), the national sport governing body for Olympic wrestling in Canada, is seeking interested and qualified individuals to fill vacant positions and serve on the Board of Directors for a period of up to two years beginning in February 2024:
- 1 retired athlete
- 1 coach
- 1 independent director
The primary role of the Board of Directors is to govern by providing leadership, strategic direction and governance for WCL and its employees in pursuit of its vision and mission. The Board of Directors is elected by the members of WCL and is ultimately accountable to the members for the competent management that ensures the long-term viability of WCL.
The WCL strives to adopt modern governance best practices in alignment with the Canadian Sports Governance Code, including adopting a skills-based board model that focuses on governance, strategic and political matters.
