Josep Borrell and Úrsula were insulted by Politico

Today, Tuesday, European Union Foreign Minister Josep Borrell received a phone call with the Foreign Minister POLITICO “I honored him with the Borat Diplomatic Award” because, according to the newspaper, he was unfit for his position.

The newspaper, owned by Axel Springer, wrote that Borrell “does not miss any opportunity to put his foot in his mouth.”

His “tendency for problematic, off-the-cuff statements” reportedly led to speculation in Madrid that he was exiled – rather than promoted – to the position of EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy in December 2019.

As an example, Politico gave Borrell the fact that he described the presidential elections in Ecuador as “peaceful” after the assassination of one of the candidates, as well as the fact that he announced in February 2022 that Brussels would send fighter jets to Ukraine – where an agreement was only later reached.

According to Politico, Borrell appears to “remind us daily of his diplomatic incompetence,” such as when he criticized Israel after the Hamas incursion on October 7, or when he told journalists that the European Union agreed on the need for a ceasefire. But other EU officials opposed it.

The “award” is named after Borat, who was created by British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen as a former Soviet anti-Semitic caricature.

In addition to Politico Borrell, Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, was not forgotten.

He won the award for “Best German Performance Pretending to Be the President of Europe.”

According to the newspaper, von der Leyen was blocked in her attempts to exercise and expand power by Borrell and Charles Michel, President of the European Council.

In addition, she was so “unfair” to him that the media attempted to obtain text messages that von der Leyen exchanged with the Pfizer CEO during negotiations to purchase millions of Covid-19 vaccines, Politico added.
