Big changes may be coming to the Xbox Achievement system

The Xbox Achievement system may soon take on a new look. An insider has shared new information with the community. This could be a good year for users.

02.01.2024 – Earlier there were rumors that the achievement system (trophy) for the Xbox platform may receive serious changes. But we haven't heard about the changes since then until now. But this time, insiders report that the transformation project is very close to completion.

At the end of 2023, Microsoft released a major update to fix system bugs in existing achievements. By the way, these mostly affected Game Pass users. However, the situation is such that in addition to small and large errors, the system itself is not very satisfactory either. Many people believe that PlayStation's trophy system works better than Xbox's achievement system. In the first case, there is a platinum level, which indicates that the person in question has achieved everything possible in the game. This type of achievement doesn't exist on Xbox, which is a huge drawback. It just lacks the closing chord that would make a satisfying point at the end of a long grind. By the way, Microsoft is now planning to change this defect.

The new system is being prepared

Xbox insider, Shpitkal Nick, reports that the company is nearing the end of its new development. Users are expected to receive the fruits of their labor sometime in 2024. Nick has not confirmed that the update will be fully released in 2024, but he has made it clear that the changes will be announced this year at least. The insider did not clarify what features this transformation would include. But what users are confident of is that these innovations will reach a “platinum-like” level, as well as the possibility of recording play time and progress in each game, and that DLC milestones will finally be measured separately by the new version. System.

Microsoft has talked about this more than once previously, they consider it very important to rock Xbox achievements. It seemed like they were serious about this, and didn't want to get caught. Fully weaponization will likely not happen in 2024. However, we could get a new version with its details as early as this year. But the new system must be well thought out and flawless, not a distorted mess.
