This will be Pope Francis' Saturday in Hungary

The head of the Catholic Church arrived today, Friday, on a three-day visit to Hungary. On the first day of Pope Francis' visit, he also met with President Katalin Novak and Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. The international press also reported his visit, and crowds at the house were awaiting his arrival. Pope Francis will participate in ten private and public meetings and deliver six speeches during his visit to Hungary. On Friday afternoon, Pope Francis met with bishops, priests, deacons, religious, student priests and pastoral staff at St. Stephen's Cathedral. We show you what's happening on Saturday below!

The Pope's trip is primarily a pastoral visit. The head of the Catholic Church came to Budapest to visit Christians and Catholics residing in Hungary and to encourage and strengthen them in their faith. At the same time, it is also a state visit, creating an opportunity for Pope Francis to convey a message about values.

What will happen on Saturday?

On Saturday morning, Pope Francis will make a private visit to the Blessed Batyanyi-László Stratman Home for the Blind, then meet the poor, refugees and members of Hungarian minorities at the Roman Catholic Church in Árpád-Házy on Róssák Square. And he will also give a speech. Participation in the event is subject to invitation and registration. After that, the Pope met with representatives of the Roman Catholic Church and the faithful.

In the afternoon, the head of the Catholic Church will meet young people at the Pap Laszlo Budapest Sports Stadium. About 11,000 young people who have been invited and registered will participate in this event. In addition to a speech by Pope Francis, the program also includes testimonies, folk dances, common prayer and musical performances. In the evening, the Pope visits members of the Jesuit order.
