The US national team already has 11 gold medals at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest. On Saturday, the penultimate day of the World Cup, thanks to Ethiopia, Kenya and Sweden, the number of countries collecting more than one gold in the week-long competition rose to eight. The medal table currently includes the names of 41 countries – 20 of which have world champions – behind the Americans in first place. Canada came in second place, and with all medals counted, followed by Jamaica (11) and the United States of America (27).
