Season six of the F1 series arrives on Netflix on the final day of testing

Season six of the popular Formula 1 series will be released to the streaming service, Drive to Survive, on February 23, one week before the qualifying session for the Bahrain Grand Prix – that is, on the final day of the pre-season test series.

There are more and more signs that Formula 1 is slowly but surely “awakening” from its winter slumber: today, for example, the list of shows is complete and Netflix has just announced the release date of its popular Formula 1 series, Drive. Available to survive is the latest season.

The series debuted in 2019 and in recent years has contributed strongly to the growth in popularity of the sport – especially in the USA, where the king category has now managed to break into it after several failed attempts. So much so that three major awards were held in the country last year – and this will be the case in 2024 as well.

Not much information has been released about the new season yet (a preview hasn't been released yet), but the streaming giant has already announced the premiere date: The latest episodes of Drive to Survive will be available on February 23, the last day of February. Test series in Bahrain.

The sixth season will of course address the events of the 2023 season, which is mainly remembered for the dominance of Max Verstappen and Red Bull. But life has also written many interesting 'side stories', just think of Aston Martin's strong start, McLaren's mid-year comeback or Ferrari and Carlos Sainz's success in Singapore.

Although the Drive to Survive campaign has been running for six years, its popularity has not diminished: according to F1, viewership is increasing; Season episodes covering the 2021 season, for example, were among the 10 most watched shows on Netflix in 56 countries.

Considering the numbers and the impact of the series, producer James Jay Rees, speaking to the official Formula 1 website in 2023, expressed an optimistic tone about the continuation and that the series will continue to be popular and watched in the coming years. . He also noted that he is proud that F1 and Netflix have “blazed a new trail” and succeeded in bringing the sport closer to fans.
